Description

This course is designed to provide project builders with advanced technical knowledge and experience with RedDot LiveServer.

Students will learn advanced techniques for parsing and presenting dynamic content generated by LiveServer. Extending LiveServer functionality using OpenAPI, Application Framework and custom inline-functions is covered. Students will learn how to configure and use the Reporting, Forum, Blog and Content Integrator modules. Finally, students will learn techniques for improving the performance of LiveServer sites.

Objectives:

After completing the Advanced RedDot LiveServer course students will be able to:

• Write custom XSL for LiveServer
• Use XPath to parse and reuse dynamic content
• Use the Content DynaMent to modify existing content
• Deploy multi-language sites on LiveServer
• Use indexing jobs to enable external search engines to index LiveServer content
• Write custom components using OpenAPI and Application Framework
• Write custom inline functions
• Use the Reporting, Forum, Blog and Content Integrator modules
• Tune performance using Web Components and caching

Skill Requirements

This course is designed for experienced RedDot LiveServer project builders.

Pre-requisites

Participants should possess the following skills:

• Attended the RedDot CMS and LiveServer Project Builder courses

• Implemented at least one website using RedDot CMS and RedDot LiveServer

• Expert web scripting skills (classic ASP is recommended, but a solid understanding of any web scripting environment is sufficient)

• Expert object-oriented development skills (Java is recommended, but a solid understanding of .NET is sufficient)
